            Biography:
DJ SGZ aka Gugulethu Mokwebo started his music career as a
DJ in 2002 using cassettes and 2 tape decks at the age of
            15. His style ranges from Afro, Jazzy, Funk and Soul.
Heavily influenced by his late father (May his soul rest in
peace) who was a heavy Jazz collector. His neighbour who is
also a dj was a big influence in SGZ's career as well. SGZ
was also part of a duo called 'Stuntmen Project' with a
friend, Mellow D. During DJ SGZ's graduation year they got a
publishing deal at Sheer Music which was hooked up by Qness.

Qness also got Stuntmen Projects to print their music on
vinyl and their independent release was sold in the House
Afrika Records vinyl store. They also used to do backpacking
and rocked gigs together. Late 2011 SGZ met with Aphreme the
person who gave him a breakthrough in the digital music
space. SGZ's 1st digital release as a solo artist was a
remix he did for Aphreme and Black Mamba for a track titled
"Bless The Rhythm". When he heard about the Afrodesiamp3
digital music store SGZ started his own record label,
            Nightshade Music Group.

The label's debut release "Changes" started topping the
charts and got played on the number 1 house music radio
show, The Urban Beat, hosted by Zeal, Vinni Da Vinci &
DJ Christos. SGZ started his online radio show called The
Nightshade Sessions which helped him push his brand and
helped him play alongside heavy weights such as DJ China,
Nestee Nev and other great DJs/Musicians. SGZ also got guest
mixes for his radio show from the likes of Ralf Gum, Jonny
Montana, Craig Stewart, Abicah Sole, Sir LSG, Nick Power,
            Fulsoul and more...

SGZ has also done great remix work for other house music
producers such as Distant People, Trevor Mako, Aphreme, Andy
Compton, Lele X, Cafrodeep, Rubberlips, Saxture, Soulbridge
and Zulumafia. SGZ's music has also been remixed by other
great producers such as Soulplate, Soulbridge, Virgo E.S.P,
riCkY inch, Hennings Project, Spiritual Blessings and
            more...

His music is now getting played on BBC, Khozi FM, YFM, Metro
FM and many other online radio shows as well as podcasts.
SGZ has rocked many house parties and big clubs such as
Tempos, Mint, The Rock, Black Orchids, The Dome,
            Rockerfella, Disofeng and many more...
